Bula and welcome to the firstFiji Island Tours newsletter for January 2008. We would initially like to take this opportunity to say Happy New Year to you all and thank you for your commitment to us last year as the only place to plan and book your holiday to Fiji . Many of you return and call us with your feedback and, while we as a team are constantly updating our knowledge, you as first hand travelers offer valuable feedback that helps us plan others' holidays too. We thank you and look forward to helping you again in 2008 and beyond.
Many of you this year have experienced Fiji 's mainland and seen how it has developed enormously over the last 5 years, and many of you have experienced the amazing developments at Denarau. Denarau is no longer just a stop over option, but a destination itself. Denarau presents you with many wonderful accommodation options, not to mention one family who returned recently and said it was the best place for a "pool crawl"!
Further down the Queens highway on the Coral Coast changes have also been taking place, notably with Shangri-La's Fijian Resort and The Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji. The Shangri-La Fijian Resort has been getting some wonderful new looks for areas such as the main restaurant, Black Marlin Bar and the development of the new Chi village right at the far end of the resort. With Bures to cater for the most discerning travelers and the new Chi Spa area this is definitely worth a look.
The Outrigger on the Lagoon is one resort that has been standing out lately. Further down the Coral Coast the Outrigger has always been a favourite. With so many options, bure or room, numerous restaurants, including an award winning 5 star option, a huge pool, unending activities and a great relaxed feel, The Outrigger is a must stay.
We are not the only ones to love the Outrigger though. Recently awarded The Hotel Club Award as one of the top three hotels in the Pacific, the Outrigger has reason to be proud. The Award, notably is judged by travelers, in the Oceanic Region and therefore is consumer based, and an amazing accolade.
It's not just us, it's not just those who voted, it's also the formidable Susan Kurosawa who loves The Outrigger. Susan is the renowned travel writer for The Australian and had many wonderful things to say about the resort. On a visit to The Outriggers' amazing, world class Bebe Spa, another new wonderful addition to the resort, Susan comments included "this is a particularly luxurious addition" and "Fiji's newest Spa is close to heaven"
