Bula & welcome to the Fiji Island Tours newsletter,
As the weather warms up here in Australia and another set of school holidays ends, we thought it a good idea to give you a little taste of Fiji - let's face it, those of us with children really need a break after the school holidays! A tip though, start planning for your holidays next year, particularly if you had trouble getting into your favourite resort this year, think ahead and talk to the Fiji Island Tours girls about school holidays 2008 - Fiji is filling up fast already!
In this months' newsletter we are focusing on two resorts - both under the Ahura Resorts banner. One an extraordinary new addition to Fiji 's luxury offerings, the second a favourite of mine for a wonderful, perfect family holiday.
If you have any questions or would like to book a holiday contact us direct on +61 2 9979 2403 or email us direct . Regards, The team at Fiji Island Tours. |

| Likuluki Lagoon Resort
Likuliku Lagoon Resort is located in the popular Mamanuca chain and opened this year as Fiji's first, and to date, only resort with over water bures. Likuliku means Calm Waters - and on a recent, fleeting visit I can vouch for that! It's not just the waters that are calm - the second you step off your boat, seaplane or helicopter the feeling of serenity overwhelms you. Likuliku is simply stunning! The resort has been designed with peace, privacy and perfection as the key components.
The most remarkable architecture has been used in all the bures and I challenge you to not gasp audibly when your door opens to your overwater bure and the first thing you see is a full glass window framing the most spectacular view across to neighbouring Mamanuca islands. Step further in, watch the sealife from your glass paneled floor, or climb the ladder down for a dip in the calm waters beneath your bure. How could you want more?

| Malolo Island Resort
Ahura Resorts have put as much thought into their second resort, on the same island. Malolo Island Resort is one of the Mamanuca's favourite family spots and I revisited the resort this year after an absence of many years. It was wonderful to be back. Malolo has captured it all for a great family holiday - the kids will never be happier and parents are catered to at a level that mimics some of the top Fijian resorts. Treetops Restaurant, under the leadership of a very talented Executive Chef offers truly spectacular fine dining for adults, and the two other dining options really do lift the bar on the common misconception of food in Fiji.
Try Leilanis Spa for a magnificent afternoon of relaxation - and take note that the rainforest and bird sounds that will lull you into a true sense of relaxation are not on tape - but surrounding you in your private openair treatment bure.
Meanwhile the children will be busy doing all the wonderful things on offer at Tia's Treehouse - fish feeding, watermelon cracking, adventure walking, ice cream eating, tug of war - and so much more. Or, do as we did and take some kayaks and as the tide goes down head over to the sandspit just opposite - it's a spectacular spot to explore, sit in the crystal clear water or snorkel from. Just make sure you head back before the tide gets extra low or you'll need to walk back most of the way!!
